"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

THE BASICS: write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.
STEP ONE
** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA.
** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!
STEP TWO
** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
KAMI'S WISH LIST
1. My first wish is something no one can give me.. But I want it more then anything. I want one of my dear friends to be cured of cancer so he can continue on with his life.. he deserves to.
2. I'd very veryyyy much enjoy some fan art! I love when people draw pictures with me in mind, it makes me feel all warm inside! Like, "Aww, they put time into a picture for me? ;n;"
3. Kinda dorky.. But I'm really hoping I get a new Nintendo DS Lite for Christmas.. Never was quite the same after my old DS was stolen a few years back.
4. I REALLY, REALLY WANT A PAIR OF THOSE PLAIN WHITE VANS(Shoes) WITH COOL DISNEY DRAWINGS ALL OVER THEM, THEYRE SO AMAZING AND.. GAH! (I'm a size 9.. LOL. [link] )
5. A background for my fish tank would be just Rad! Something dark but not .. death.. dark. The Tank has black pebbles with a few neon ones mixed in, and my betta is black. The tank is about.. 30inx20in ( PIC OF TANK : [link] )
6. Hmm.. More serious note.. I could really use some help with Scholarship searching.. I have absolutely no money for college and I need about 16 grand a year, not including food and books.. and living.. Lol..
7. A CD with pretty piano music on it! Oh man, that'd be awesome. I can never find good piano music on the internet (maybe i'm dumb..)
8. I'd love one of those lil' detail icons of one of my kitty characters. Preferably my leopard. ;x ( [link] )
9. I've seen some cool messenger-bags floating around dA with hand drawn images on 'em.. they're pretty kick ass! c: (My bag ripped open.. lul. [link] )
10. It'd be SUPER awesome if someone could make me one of those nifty iPhone covers (the cheap kind you draw on) with a cool character on it! My iphone case broke so its unprotected. ( [link] )
